You can get branding tips that help establish your image totally free, right from your mail box. If you get catalogs in your snail-mail box gather up a few and study them.
We get catalogs almost daily, so the other day I decided to make use of them and see what branding tips that help establish your image I could find and share with you. This 7 minute video lets you take a look at a group of catalogs and shares what I learned.
It’s amazing what you can pick up from the catalog cover and copy, isn’t it? I give them a quick look (the covers) before I trash them almost every time I get one. I’d love to hear below what you’ve learned from this, too!
Great tips Sue! Easy tips to implement for my companies Branding. Our clients should know exactly what we do and how we do it when our branding messages are clear and concise.
Sue I just some great ideas from watching this video and I am going to run and write them down right now as I’ll be launching a new site soon!
Great video, Sue! I love how you pull marketing tips from the direct mail you receive. You can learn so much from examining the marketing materials you get each day.
Sue,
Yes,this is a great tip. There are certain companies who
have excellent copy as well to model. I keep a file folder
of these as they come in and underline the areas to pay
special attention to.
I hadn’t thought of using all the catalogs I get as a learning tool. Thanks for the tip, I’ll be paying more attention from now on.
Sue I love your catalog reviews. The Orvis cover is priceless. Thanks for the branding tips. Some of these companies could use your help.
I look for that “Orvis Dog Cover of the Year” every year, Mary Ellen. Always a beautiful dog.
I just love that you give your catalog covers a quick look before before you trash them! brilliant way to learn from companies that have spent money testing what works!
Sue… Very creative presentation. Mood and emotion are such strong forces!
Thank you Jim. Yes, they are!
You are spot on Sue that people are visual animals and so the images and colours make a strong impression and evoke a mood – you don’t necessarily have to read the words to know what each company is selling. It shows how important it is to know your target audience, where you are positioned in the marketplace and then communicate it in a way that they immediately know what you are about.
Love your 3 tips thanks!
You’re welcome, Heidi.
