Do you think that using email marketing is old-fashioned?
It’s easy to find online marketers who will tell you that it’s smart to put all your marketing on social media. But they are wrong. It might be more fun. It might be easier. You'll get more return on your investment of money and time by also being an email marketer. Click To Tweet
Look at these facts about reasons to use email marketing from Jason Fladlien. Jason has been in the online world a good while, and is one of the most thorough and successful online marketers I know of. I wanted to share what he said with you. The words below are his words, not mine. I’ve made dozens of presentations to business owners that make many of these same points, and I believe Jason to be right. Here’s what he said.
5 Good reasons to use email marketing no matter what else you might also use.
- Email is more engaging than social media.
Doesn’t matter the metrics you use to track it, email wins hands down, across the board. This is even further true when it comes to click throughs.Thumbing something up or liking something is one thing… clicking on a link and going somewhere is a whole different (better) form of engagement.
- Email has the highest ROI (return on investment).
Most online businesses spend money on advertising to get new prospects or traffic to their offers and websites. Yet the numbers are clear – if more money was spent on improving the company’s email marketing efforts, there would be a higher return on investment. This is partly because it’s often the most neglected area in a business. A little bit here can go a long way.
- Email out-converts.
If you want someone to buy something, across all industries, on average, email will be your highest performing mass-messaging approach. The only thing that beats it is one-on-one, which is powerful but inefficient. This is important to know – email outperforms ANYTHING except one-on-one sales calls. Let that sink in a minute.
- Email is most often the first people check in the morning.
People will check their email before the news, before social media or before search. And it’s not even close. Over half of all internet users check their email upon first waking up, before looking at anything else online. Click To Tweet
- It’s what consumers prefer for marketing communications.
Millennials represent the biggest chunk of money being spent online, and 78% of millennials prefer to be marketed to via email than over any other channel. In fact, every demographic over the age of 18 prefers email over other ways of being marketed to online.
Are you using email marketing?
So, my question to you is this – how strong is your email marketing game? On a scale of 1 to 5, how would you rate yours?
Here’s a few extra benefits of using email marketing.
- Emails take thoughtfulness and time, but not a ton of money.
