How Can You Get More Views on Your YouTube Channel?
You've probably been hearing how important it is to use YouTube and post your videos there, but the secret is to get more views on your YouTube channel. Here's how to make sure your videos actually get watched, and your subscriber list grows.
First, though, if you currently have no videos on YouTube and don't have a YouTube channel yet, go read this about how to set up your own YouTube channel. Then come back for these “get more viewers” tips.
Four Tips for Getting More Views
Tip Number One: Most of the traffic on YouTube is search driven – people are looking for specific topics, just like they do on Google or Bing. This means that they are searching by topic – they are not searching for you by name. So when you title your videos, use the topic keywords or phrases in your titles. These keywords or key phrases should match those that you use for your business overall. If you're about makeup, your keywords and key phrases should include the word makeup just about all the time. Because, you want people to hear that word and think of you and your business right away. Here is an example for you.

It's all about the topic, not your personal name (unless you are Lady Gaga).
Tip Number Two: Go look over all the videos you have posted on YouTube and make sure your titles are keyword optimized (see Tip One). You can change the titles, and it's totally worth your time to do it, because why? You will start to get more views on YouTube. Grab 3 videos a day and punch up their titles, making sure you are optimizing each title.
Tip Number Three: When all your titles are rockin' then put all your videos into playlists, by topic. (It's super-easy to create playlists for your YouTube channel.) You know how you categorize your blog posts by categories? Well, you categorize your YouTube videos by playlists. And just like your video titles, make your video playlists keyword rich, too. So if you have videos about making silver earrings, have a playlist that includes the phrase “making silver earrings” and all the videos inside that playlist should have a title that also reflects “making silver earrings.”
The whole point is to lead people directly to what they are searching for. It's like painting a big huge red arrow on your playlists and videos that tells people “here's what you searched for.” Like a big blinking road sign “STOP HERE.”
So, for instance, on my YouTube channel I have a playlist for travel videos, one for social media marketing, and others as well. (If you don't subscribe to my YouTube channel, please go do it now!)
Tip Four: This is the ultimate Holy Grail goal – for your particular keywords (search terms) you want to show up on the first page of YouTube. I'm not going to lie to you, that takes time and consistent effort. If someone keys in “how to make silver earrings” you want to have optimized your titles and your playlist so well, and have so many views, that you show up right at the top on someone's computer screen.
Now this takes time, consistent effort and consistent use of your target keywords. Yes, it surely does. But don't tell yourself it's too hard, because it really isn't. It's work, but it's not like digging a ditch. Over time, you can achieve this with consistent use of your keywords and phrases.
By the way, it's easy to show up on Page One for your name. Go do it – it'll make you feel good! But keep working to be THE go-to person for making silver earrings – or whatever your gift is that you want to be known for.
I know you are holding your head and saying is this really worth the effort? Getting more video views on your YouTube channel can definitely pay off. Start working at it. It's all about two things.
1. Clarity – what are you about?
2. Consistent action – that's what gives you your desired life and business.
Almost 5 billion videos are watched on YouTube every single day, by 30 million people a day. Think about that. You must stand out with solid content and a consistent YouTube strategy – and if you do that even a tiny little bit a portion of that enormous market finds you. Most of the videos uploaded to YouTube are not created by small business owners. In fact, only 9% of small businesses use YouTube at all. Just doing it puts you ahead of the game.
