Hi this is Sue Painter the confident marketer. My website is confidentmarketer.com. Yesterday I talked a little bit about the signs that you are not using your own inner vision enough to help yourself in your life and in your business. That it creates anxiety, a lack of creativity, a really heightened sense that there is something wrong. Confusion. Constantly asking other people for answers to questions that really you should be able to look deeply into yourself and know the answers to. That give you a pass forward in your life and your business.
Today in the 2nd video about becoming visionary and stepping up in to the visionary leadership that your business needs in order to succeed, I want to talk a little bit about what being visionary does for you. And then in tomorrow’s video, I’ll talk a little bit about how to become visionary, how to strengthen those visionary skills that you have. If you remember yesterday I’ve talked about the muscle. it’s like flexing that visionary muscle.
Well, my purpose in doing these videos is really to help people understand that they are visionary even though if they think they’re not. I have been a visionary all my life and I was lucky that I had that kind of training when I was very young. But really you are visionary as well, it’s just that you haven’t quite turned the gas up yet underneath your visionary skills. You haven’t had them you haven’t practiced in a while and we become kinda overloaded with everybody else’s ideas for ourselves when we don’t take the time to have our own visions for ourselves.
So when you do realize that you have those skills and that you can implement them, you can learn how to use them. Then it really gives you a sense of relief and hopefulness over what you can do in life. You don’t feel like you have to be constantly getting authority from someone else. You can give yourself your own authority. I think that is one of the biggest things that I see as a problem that we have especially in American culture, not so much in other cultures in the world, but in this country in particular. We are, we have been trained by our culture to put the center of authority outside of ourselves instead of within ourselves. So we listen to teachers, we listen to preachers, we listen to parents, we listen to government, we listen to policies and rules and regulations in the places that we work. And while all of those give our society a structure, it’s not meant to put the locus of control and responsibility for your life out somewhere else. When you do that you start feeling fragmented, confused and overwhelmed. And you don’t ever have a really strong sense of “this is what I should be doing for myself, this is what I should be doing in my business, this is my path forward.”
So when you learn to use your own visionary skills, you take back that sense of responsibility and that center of authority. And you put the center of authority for your own life back in yourself. Which is right where it belongs. So that’s one good thing that becoming a visionary does for you. Sometimes people call that resident authority. Where does the authority for your life lie? Does it lie with your parents, your spouse, the people who employ you or does it lie here within your own heart and soul? Within your own visions that you see with your own eyes.
So the thing about having resident authority, bringing that authority back to you and saying “I am the person who sees my path clearly,” is that you need to train yourself to be able to see clearly what your path is and not get confused by things that cannot become real for you. Know how to separate the wheat from the chaff. Know how to separate what is real and what you can actually see happening and see it in your mind’s eye very strongly versus just a fancy wish that isn’t really anything that your energy is vested in. So when you have a true vision for yourself you feel a lot of energy toward that vision. And that’s another good thing about becoming a visionary leader for yourself and for your business is that energy that you feel and your vision is very strong is enough energy to get you past the resistance you have toward being out in the world, speaking what it is that you have to speak. It will get you past your resistance towards marketing, toward setting up systems in your business. If your vision is strong enough, you will quit complaining that those things are overwhelming to you and you will get them done. That is what a strong vision does for your business
So it’s a really important thing to have. It’s like adding a whole bunch of extra energy into your business. It comes from within you. And it also really aligns that people around you toward what you are working for. When people see that it is so strong in you and you are taking action, and you are getting your systems in place and you are doing your marketing and you are increasing your skills, all the things you need to do. They line up behind you because you are actually doing something toward that vision. So your spouse will line up behind you better, your kids will line up behind you better. The people who you hire as your team will have a very clear sharp vision of where you’re going and that will just enable you to feel more confident and be more of a team leader for the people you are working with to build your business.
So all of those things are important and
