Are You an iPhone Camera User?
If you're like me, you take a lot of photos with your iPhone camera, and have quit using your other camera equipment. Right or wrong, taking photos with your iPhone seems faster, easier, and a lot less equipment to carry with you.
Whether you use your iPhone camera for family shots, selfies, or feeding your social media accounts, using additional lenses will give you more creative ability and make your pictures more fun and interesting.
Exploring Olloclip Lenses for your iPhone
I explored all the possibilities for extra lenses to use with my iPhone, and ended up buying the reasonably-priced 4-in-1 lens set from Olloclip. This easy, clip-on lens set gives me 4 different lenses to expand what I can do with my iPhone camera.
- A fish-eye lens that gives me almost 180 degree field of vision
- A wide-angle lens that doubles the field of vision on an iPhone camera
- A 10 times larger macro lens
- A 15 times larger macro lens
In this 4 minute video I show you what the Olloclip lenses look like and some examples of photos I've taken using these lenses.
Using your iPhone camera for social media and blog posts
For me, expanding the ability of my iPhone's camera to take wide angle, fish eye, and up-close photos gives me a way for my photos to stand out on social media. I can also take detail photos if I'm explaining something in a blog post. For food bloggers, for instance, the two macro lenses give you the ability to show ingredients up close.
It's much easier to include a large group in a wide-angle shot, even if you're shooting a selfie. For seascapes or landscapes, your field of vision is double what it would otherwise be using your iPhone camera lens alone. Of course, you can edit any of the shots you take with these additional lenses in your favorite editing program, just like your normal iPhone camera shots.
The 4-in-1 Olloclip lens set that I use is small and light – maybe 3 1/2 inches long in its plastic holder. The lens set snaps into its plastic holder quickly. Olloclip provides a clip to attach your lens set to a jacket zipper, a purse, or a backpack when you don't have the lenses attached to your iPhone.
