As always – right on target! A small, hungry list is better than a huge list of freeloaders!
Spot on, Sue.
Quality over quantity any day — depending on strategy, of course.
Write on!~

Great video, Sue. I send out a newsletter bi-weeky. It is one avenue that I reach people and serve them. There may be folks on my list that don’t buy my services. However, it is one avenue that I reach people with my message. Unless you actively measure your reach, you never know how that one newsletter impacted someone’s life. Your type of business may be a factor. But if one person changes their life from an opt-in suggestion, I believe it’s worth it.
I totally agree Sue! Quality is better than quantity. Some people are just Voyeurs and some are hungry for your information, products and services. Not only do you need to build a list but need to learn how to “manage” your list. Thanks Sue!.
Sue I totally know about the free loaders! That especially happens when you offer creative services. Good luck with your workshop.
EXCELLENT points, Sue. I’m slowly but surely building a list for my new business venture…easier said than done. I’m definitely going to be referring back to this video in the near future. Thanks, Sue.
The older I get, the less time I seem to want to spend with those who will not commit … not to me, but to what is right for them. It is that ‘gently pointing’ that I’m both good at and it is the thing that can be my biggest weakness inside of me; you know, wanting to smack them upside the head. Of course I would never do that physically, but I do sometimes do it with a challenging question. Thanks Sue for making me ponder this.
I think people take for granted you are paying for them to be on your list. I use to get very emotional when someone unsubscribed from my list. Now I say thank you because they probably was never going to purchase anything from me. I too only want people on my list who find value in the information I share. Thanks Sue for breaking this down to 3 distinct type of people.
Sue, thank you for sharing this video! It is a great reminder to “cleanse” the list once in a while, although, I have not found a good way to do so. Would love your thoughts on that during your call!
Ah, yes! Dreamers rather than doers. Love that distinction. <3 Katherine
Hey Sue–
I’m right with you about the freeloaders. I’ve even had them chastise me for daring to try and sell them something! LOL Too ironic! My reply to them is that I wasn’t born a trust-fund baby, so I do need to earn money, like anyone else in business does. Good riddance, I say! Their decision to leave makes more room for serious business owners.
Valuable information – and yes quality is way better than quantity!
I think people are so worried about the size of their list and not focusing on the quality of the prospect. I never considered that I’m paying for the dreamers. Thanks for that information Sue.
