Do you know about the very best tools for online entrepreneurs? If you work online, you know that there are new tools available to you almost every day. They promise to make your life a lot easier and help you make money faster. Some you’ll use, some you will buy and never learn, ending up wasting your money.
My experience with buying and using online tools is mixed. Some are far more complicated and require more time to use correctly than I anticipated. I’m betting you’ve bought tools for your business, too, and they have fallen by the wayside.
Here’s my list for the best tools for online entrepreneurs. It’s based on personal experience, the experiences of my colleagues and clients, and reviews I’ve read when I’m researching online tools.
Best Social Media Management Tools
I’ve tried many of these over the years, including Social Oomph, Post Planner, Meet Edgar, Hootsuite, and Later. My tried and true best tool that I’ve kept over the years no matter what else I’ve also used is Hootsuite. I personally use Hootsuite Pro, but there are several levels of service from which to choose. Hootsuite does a good job of adding new features to keep up with social media trends. It can help you manage common social media accounts like Facebook profiles and pages, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Pinterest (through a Hootsuite plug-in called Tailwind). You can get a 30 day free trial of Hootsuite by using my affiliate link here: https://confidentmarketer.com/hootsuite.
Lately, I’ve started using Post Planner as one alternative to Meet Edgar, which I’m dropping. Post Planner is only useful for Facebook and Twitter, however. You can add any personal profile, page, or group that you manage on Facebook. The basic Post Planner account allows a total of 10 social media accounts to be added. What I like about Post Planner is that it is very easy to find related content to your topics and offer that curated content to your Twitter and various Facebook feeds. You can also pin the curated content to your Pinterest account (but you can’t set up an ongoing feed to Pinterest). You can get a quick overview of Post Planner and the costs (various plans available) at my affiliate link here: https://confidentmarketer.com/postplanner.
Best Tools for Your Website
I use a WordPress plug-in, Pretty Link, almost every day. Pretty Link allows you to cloak affiliate links (like the ones above) as well as track clicks to those links. It’s very helpful as an affiliate management tool. There is a Pro version, but you get most of the benefits from the basic version. Here’s where you can read more about Pretty Link. I can’t imagine being an online entrepreneur without it.
I also like Pop Up Domination. This tool allows you to create well-designed pop-ups on any of your website pages, which increases your opt-ins to your email list. While many people groan and moan about pop-ups, it’s possible to design them so that they are not total annoyances and they DO increase your opt-ins. The tool offers tracking so that you know which pop-ups are working the best for you. You can get a free trial by using my affiliate link: https://confidentmarketer.com/popup.
A third website tool I like and use is Auto WebLaw. This tool gives you language for various legal disclaimers that you must have on your website, by law, without paying for custom disclaimers crafted by your attorney. It’s a one time charge for access to the disclaimers. Even if you take them to your attorney for review, you’re going to save time and legal fees. My affiliate link for Auto WebLaw is https://confidentmarketer.com/belegal.
All of the tools I’ve listed as the best tools for online entrepreneurs are things I personally use right now. It’s not a complete list, so if you like this let me know, I will do a second edition in the coming weeks. And if you have a great tool for online entrepreneurs that you use, please let me know in the comment section below.
