The last few weeks I’ve been doing videos that outline what I see as trends in the Internet marketing community right now. If you missed week one when I talked about how money is flowing, doing live events, and the “pay to play at someone else’s event” model you can watch the Trends Part One Video.
Last week in Part Two my topic was Affiliate Marketing Failure – all about evaluating affiliate marketing practices and how to set things up for success. Click here to watch Affiliate Marketing Failure.
In this week’s “Trends” video I talk about the problems with social media, how to deal with freeloaders, and one type of service that is selling like hotcakes right now. Click below to watch, and make sure to leave a comment, too!
We stumbled over here by a different web page and thought I should check things out.
I like what I see so i am just following you. Look forward to looking
into your web page yet again.
We are a group of volunteers and starting a new scheme in our community.
Your website offered us with valuable info to work on. You’ve done a formidable job and our entire community will be grateful to you.
Thank you, Cruz.
Couldn’t agree with you more. Social media is about conversation and connection. By treating it like that, you do stand out, build credibility and relationships. And yes, getting out from behind the computer is always necessary – meeting people and growing your network.
Sue — you always have your finger on the pulse of new trends. How interesting! I had achieved some Social Media fatigue until recently. Cycles! Love, Katherine.
Sue, I agree — if you want a deeper relationship with someone, social media is a great place to start, but it has to be nurtured elsewhere. I’ve had social media fatigue for awhile — maybe it’s just my introvert nature..:)
I think one of the interesting things about social media is that it allows introverts to be extroverts without having to leave home. That is alluring, for sure. But when too much noise and crude gets in the system, everyone wears out.
Sue
Sue,
There is nothing like meeting people in person and networking events to achieve that goal.
Spot on Sue – there is so much background noise on the internet with people wanting to make a million dollars overnight in their pyjamas. I love your ‘nose bleed’ comment – spot on face to face and being visible are the keys to success today to cut through. I am using Linked in more and more and am getting more inquiries through it than any other channel.
Sue
I like the suggestion about engaging in conversation in twitter and on FB and actually engage people. I do find the FB groups about a specific topic are very helpful.
I agree with your comments about LI and am finding this be very useful for making good connections for my business.
Interesting to hear about the swing back to local and face-to-face networking!
Trudy
I’m one of those people Sue who gains so much more from networking locally and building in person relationships, not from spending time on social media! Thanks for confirming that the pendulum may be swinging away from SM a bit now!
Thanks Sue – great info! I will share with my tribe for sure.
Thank you for your continuing excellent trend series Sue. I know I myself suffer a bit of “Facebook Fatigue.” I also have noticed a lot more spammers!
Thanks for this, Sue. I think the key to Social Media has always been and continues to be growing relationships as opposed to using it as a billboard. I’ve never been in a race to add friends. In fact, I usually don’t do much of that, because I’d rather engage in dialogue with the people I’m connected to. And FaceBook especially, for me, has allowed me to do that and to create business where I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise, particularly since my local area just hasn’t been responsive.
Thanks for confirmation on some of the trends I’ve observed as well.
Thanks Sue
I’ve been driven away from the web and back to local networking for exactly what you mention and it feels like a breathe of fresh air and a great deal more real. Thanks for the confirmation that my instincts are real.
