Turn Defeat Into Income and Surprise Everyone!
Sometimes our work doesn't bring us the quick validation that we all desire as humans. If we take the defeat we feel as concrete truth we fail twice, though. Once at the defeat and a second time for not turning that defeat into income. It takes one thing to do this, and I talk about that one thing in this 3 minute video. Defeat + Curiosity = Income. Listen in and fine out more.

Sue,
The book Failing Forward is one of my favorites for these exact reasons.
Imagine all the inventions we would not have if everyone stopped seeking
as soon as they hit their first failure.
Hi Mitch,
I am also a big fan of that book!

Thanks for sharing this. We all go through ups and downs sometimes but that doesn’t mean we should give up. I love the idea of adding curiosity to the mix to overcome defeat. That’s a novel twist.
I honestly think, Mira, that curiosity is one of the most useful of character traits for an entrepreneur. 🙂

This is an interesting spin on learning from our mistakes. I like this “be curious why xyz” and make it better next time. I truly believe in doing things and then fine-tuning for the next time around

Trudy,
Yes, you are a model of “continuous improvement” in your biz. My hat is off to you for that!
Sue
I have a great example of this… I would send out ONE email about a product and then only a few people would buy it. I was defeated and would create new products and the same thing would happen. SO, I got curious, and the answer kept coming up that I had to market the product multiple times “a campaign.” I had resisted this, not wanting to bombard my list. BUT I gave it a try because I was curious. With each email more and more people bought, and by the “final notice” email, a flood would come in. This re-enforced that my list does want my products, and they like to wait for last minute 🙂
Exactly! Weird but so many people procrastinate until the very end.
Sue,first of all, it’s lovely to see you again! One time I held a press event where only a small group showed up however one of the reporters was from Popular Mechanics. He ended up calling my client anytime he ever had questions about that particular product for years!
Yep Mary Ellen, you just never know…..
